{Simple Fall Nature Art}

simple fall nature art autumn leaves craft for toddlers and preschoolers

Today Sweet Pea and I had fun creating some simple autumn nature art.
Just some clear contact paper taped onto a window (sticky side up), some pressed fall leaves collected from the park in a rainbow of autumn colours, and some grains of rice dyed orange and yellow, leftover from another activity.

I love how the rice grains look like stitching around the outlines of the leaves, but if your little one isn't ready for such fine motor action, skip the rice and just go with the beautiful leaves. (Or try this alternative leaves-on-contact-paper art idea from Homegrown Friends.)

This is just a sneak peek as it's an ongoing piece that we'll continue tomorrow, then I'll seal it up with another sheet of contact paper over the top (sticky side down this time) to sandwich it together. Look for the finished piece coming to the Mama Pea Pod facebook page later this week.

Makes a pretty sun catcher as is, or frame it for the wall.
