{Outdoor Play: Our Week Outdoors May 13-19}

Welcome back to Week 2 of our Outdoor Play linky party!

First up, Our Week Outdoors: May 13-19.
This has been a regular feature here at Mama Pea Pod for a while now.

This week we had 'Family Day' at Princess Pea's preschool. We all went on a field trip together (kids, teachers, mums, dads, and siblings) to a very cool play park.

There was a lovely herb garden there,

two fantastic playgrounds,

and an interesting teepee and totem pole theme (don't ask me why)!

I love how every playground here has a watering station for washing hands
and/or filling up buckets and cans for water play.

There was lots of time for unstructured free play,

facepainting (warpaint I think - again, ??),

and the kids got to roll out their own pita bread dough,
made with fresh herbs from the garden...

...and watch it cook on an outdoor stone griddle.

There was also archery, but Princess Pea was in a huff at that time and didn't want to join in!

Sweet Pea spent most of her time in the sandbox, playing 'Let's Fill Mummy's Shoes With Sand'.

So, on to the Outdoor Play link-up!

There were loads of fantastic entries last week, we were so pleased with the turn-out for our first ever link-up! Thanks to everyone who participated!

It was hard to choose one favourite, but I'm so into the idea of an outdoor music play area! There were three links last week to outdoor music play centres (they must be all the rage!), so I'm featuring all three!

They are all fantastic and inspiring, and since reading them I just can't stop planning my own (imaginary) garden music play area (for the future when we have our own house)!

and I particularly love this one as it's in a family garden, made out of materials on hand
- makes me believe it's totally do-able even just at home!
